The Rasputitsa Spring Classic is a 1-day spring classic gravel bicycle race in Vermont in April. The Redemption Gravel Stage Race is a gravel stage race in Vermont during Labor Day Weekend.

Rasputitsa is Russian for “mud season”—which gives you a pretty accurate preview of this 40-mile race for bragging rights in northern Vermont. In keeping with the Russian theme, the highlight of the course is “Cyberia,” a Class IV road that a former race participant described as “a scary backwoods where at any time a Yeti or Bengal tiger may jump out of the woods, bludgeon you with a blunt object, and either leave you for dead or drag you back into the woods for a nice little Saturday brunch. Make it through the race, and you’ll be privy to poutine, maple-syrup shots, Vermont beers, and music.

Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Coming to Highland Center for the Arts: "Spellbinding ... Hannah and Ben were born to play and sing together."- FRoots

Huddled round a single microphone, singing intimate duets with just mountain dulcimer, dobro, and guitar, Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage are an acoustic duo that look and sound classically timeless, and their unique unplugged presentation creates a widescreen, cinematic soundscape with open spaces and atmosphere. Fleetingly, they may evoke a memory of Gram & Emmylou, Shirley & Davey, or Gillian & David, but their distilling of musical influences from both sides of the Atlantic produces a refined sound that is decidedly their own.

King, who not only owns the local hotel and bank, but has recently introduced a new paddle wheel steamer that puts Canning's older boat, the Stonewall Jackson, to shame. Bill Jr. and Kitty King take a liking to each other, much to the dismay of both of their fathers. Featuring live accompaniment with maestro Bob Merrill - back by popular demand - on HCA's Steinway.
