MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Riverside Life Enrichment Center's Health Service is to provide individualized programs for persons experiencing challenges in daily living. A wide range of health and social services are designed to promote maximum independent functioning while giving respite to families and caregivers. With appropriate facilities, well-trained staff and an efficient transportation network, Riverside Life Enrichment Center will address the needs of frail or isolated elderly and handicapped adults to enhance the quality of their lives.

WHAT WE DO AT THE RIVERSIDE LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER

The Riverside Life Enrichment Center is a non-profit Adult Day Health Services Program providing day services to the elders and adults who are disabled of the Northeast Kingdom. 

Our program offers the necessary support to allow adults to remain in their homes and communities while also giving needed respite to family and other caregivers. 

Offering a wide range of services to meet the needs of everyone in attendance, including health monitoring, nursing services, exercise-therapy, recreational and social activities, coordination of support services, transportation and a safe and healthy environment.

SERVICES PROVIDED

At Riverside we know that caring for a family member or loved one can be challenging, especially when you are juggling many other responsibilities. Perhaps you could use some assistance yourself during the day with things like preparing meals or managing medications. Our goal is to foster the independence and well-being of your loved one while providing respite for you. Perhaps most importantly, Riverside can prevent premature or unnecessary placement in a nursing home.

HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED

• Nursing assessment and treatment
• Coordinated healthcare with physicians and caregiver
• Nutritious meals, breakfast, lunch and snacks
• Foot care
• Diabetic monitoring
• Bathing and other personal care
• Wound care
• Bathroom assistance

REHABILITATIVE THERAPY PROVIDED

• Exercise and walking programs
• Supervision in the use of walkers, canes and other equipment
• Speech, occupational and physical therapy referrals

OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED

• Hair stylist on-site visits
• Education and support groups
• Stress management
• Grief counseling

ACTIVITIES

Designed for every ability level, our educational and recreational programs challenge minds, keep bodies moving and lift spirits. Participants choose their areas of interest from numerous offerings that change with every season.

We respect our participants as they are now, responding to and validating their experiences. In small groups with specially trained staff, participants engage in easy socialization and meaningful activities.

For our participants with Alzheimer's and dementia, the Riverside Center focuses on the quality of life, using human interaction to make each moment measurably better for the person with moderate to severe memory loss.
