The Test Your Nettle 3-5 Hour Adventure Challenge

Date: Saturday, October 9, 2021
Time: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Teams of 2-6 people will paddle and trek their way in & around Lake Willoughby using a map marked with hidden checkpoints; how many can you find before time runs out?! Great for both kids and adults! Family Friendly!

What is an adventure race? Think of it like a physical adventure mixed with a scavenger hunt. We give you a map marked with secret checkpoints, and you decide how many to try and find and what route to get there! If you're looking for an excuse to play outdoors and explore new places, this is it! We'll provide the maps, boats, paddles, life jackets, post-race munchies and awards. Full FAQ and details can be found on our website, https://www.gmara.org/races/nettle/ You'll have to decide how much training and physical preparation is required for 3-5 hours of adventure, but if you're comfortable with a hike of the same duration you should feel ready to join in the fun!

Location:  Lake Willoughby

This event is for families, obstacle course racers, triathletes, weekend warriers and more! If you like playing outside, scavenger hunts or just hiking with friends, this is for you!

The goal of this event is to be fun and approachable. Most adventure races are 10+ hours, which can seem very intimidating. We hope by offering this shorter edition, more people will give this awesome sport a try!
