Festival of Traditional Crafts

Join us in the lovely fall weather to learn about traditional crafts of the region through demonstrations and hands-on experiences. Exhibits include candle making, quilting, spring pole lathe, and even a Civil War traveling forge!

Cabot 2023 Annual Fall Foliage Festival

Cabot kicks off the NEK Fall Foliage Festival with the inaugural Cabot Cheese and Culture Festival - bringing together Vermont cheese makers, producers of cultured & fermented foods, chefs and brewers - for a full day of tasting, education & celebration. Panel discussion on cheese, fermented food-making & cooking demos throughout the afternoon.
Guests are invited to register at the Town Common between 10 a.m. - noon to learn about the day's other activities, which include self-guided tours, guided hikes, open houses at area businesses and local entertainment.
Turkey dinner with all the trimming at the Cabot Church from 5-6 p.m. $15.00. Take-out only; outdoor dining.

34th Annual Burke Fall Festival

The Burke Fall Festival is organized and hosted by the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce with assistance from many volunteers, local businesses and other organizations. The event is a fundraiser for the Chamber with proceeds used to help us promote the Burke Area, provide services to our members and support economic growth in our community.
The days' events include:
10 a.m. - Parade starts
11 a.m. - Interactive show from Reptiles on the Move at the Gazebo
Noon - 2:30 p.m. - Music from Whiskers of Odd at the Gazebo
1 p.m - Rubber Ducky Races at the Dishmill Brook - cash prizes! (proceeds benefit Lyndon Rescue)
9 a.m -1 p.m. - East Burke Congregational Church (538 Route 114) - Sale by Donation:
Older folding wooden chairs, cane seat chairs, children's puppet theater, handmade puppets and various household items.
11 a.m - 3 p.m. - East Burke School (611 Route 114) - 20th Anniversary Celebration and Open House.
Lunch options, hot mulled cider*, lawn games, craft demonstrations, school tours
*Free mulled cider for all first responders, road crews, law enforcement and anyone else assisting with flood recovery efforts.
11 a.m- 2 p.m. - Thaddeus Stevens School (638 Route 114) - Chemistry Activity: What's in Your Water? Paint Your Face o Nature.
Other info: BBQ with burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, sausages and more!
Kids Area with games and face painting (proceeds benefit Burke Town School)
FREE ice cream for kids (1pm) donated by Clementine's Creamery, Pony Rides, horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Farm Animal Petting Zoo, Cow Plop Bingo (cash prizes) - Purchase squares prior to 9/30 at East Burke Market or Mike's Gas in West Burke. Purchase squares on festival day at the Burke Chamber/Festival Info Booth. $5 per square. Winner gets half the pot!

William Eddy Lecture: Suzanne Simard

Suzanne Simard is a professor of Forest Ecology at the University of British Columbia and the author of the book, the Mother Tree.
Her current research investigates how these complex relationships contribute to forest resiliency, adaptability and recovery and has far-reaching implications for how to manage and heal forest from human impacts, including climate change.
