VERMONT'S MOST ACCESSIBLE RESORT

Just minutes from interstates 91 and 93 is Vermont's best-kept secret, Burke Mountain Resort, offering a 2,011 foot vertical drop, 50 trails and glades, 75-percent snowmaking coverage, four lifts and three terrain parks.

One of Burke Mountain's great features is its location, an unspoiled wilderness area that's renowned for its natural beauty... even among Vermonters.

Although Burke is in a pristine area, there are plenty of services, restaurants and activities nearby, including the resort’s 116-suite Burke Mountain Lodge, which opened in September 2016. The lodge also includes one of the most gorgeous views in the state, which can be seen from The Gap Pub, and also features Edmond’s Coffee Shop, the Vertical Drop retail store, a game arcade and a year-round heated outdoor pool.

The ski area is only seven miles from exit 23 off Interstate 91. This makes Burke one of New England's easiest resorts to get to - 3 hours from Boston, 3.5 hours from Hartford, Conn. and 5.5 hours from New York City.

And when you get to Burke, you won't find any long lift lines. Located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, this 2,011-foot vertical-drop mountain also serves as the training mountain of Burke Mountain Academy.

THERE'S GOLD IN OUR HILLS

Burke Mountain Academy (BMA) has been turning athletes into Olympic skiers since 1970. Since it opened its doors, 138 alums have gone on to become skiers on national ski teams, with 33 becoming Olympians. Gold Medal winner and World Cup leader Mikaela Shiffrin is a BMA alum. The fact that this renowned academy, which stresses excellence both on the slopes and in the classroom, uses Burke Mountain as its training ground speaks volumes about the quality of Burke Mountain.

NEW ENGLAND'S MOST PICTURESQUE FACILITY

Widely acclaimed as one of New England's most picturesque Nordic facilities, the 95 kilometers (6 kilometers groomed) of this cross-country network are an incredible place to lose yourself in thought while finding unmatched solitude. In a recent survey of Nordic skiers, the Dashney Nordic Center was voted Vermont's top cross-country area at an alpine resort.

Designed by famed trail architect Stan Swaim, the tracks will take you through silent evergreen and birch forests, hardwood grooves and across open meadows. Rentals and lessons are available. It is located within a stone's throw of the Burke Mountain Resort.
